Apek’s RK3 HD fins

The Apeks RK3 HD fin is the new professional solid rubber fin from Apeks, an upgrade of the popular Apeks RK3 rubber fin, a very high performance Apeks fin for technical diving and professional divers. The RK3 HD are test-winning open heel fins that outperform the RK3 heel strap fins in performance and material resilience, and were developed and tested in conjunction with the US military and experienced technical divers to meet the highest standards.

Manufactured to withstand the toughest diving conditions

Military divers, rescue divers and divers from special operations forces, coast guards and security organizations have sworn by this fin design for decades as these fins were developed to perform in the harshest environments. Therefore, the RK3 HD are not really suitable for entry-level divers or for divers who like to take it easy and relaxed, but are fins that “accelerate”, fins with which you still have good propulsion even in strong currents or surf, hard fins that strain your leg muscles and get you moving forward in every situation, even at great depths and with extensive equipment.

Indestructible materials

The RK3 HD are made of durable thermoplastic rubber with a perfect balance between elasticity and thrust, a material that was also chosen because it is absolutely impervious to salt water, extreme temperatures and mechanical stress. Compared to the RK3, the material has a higher density, which means that these fins are even harder and heavier. This makes the RK3 HD the perfect fins for dry suits, as they have negative buoyancy, which is particularly beneficial for dry suit divers.

All other components are also trimmed for maximum durability, from the unbreakable buckles made of special plastic to the tear-resistant and rust-proof stainless steel spring straps.

Perfect thrust in all conditions

The short and wide shape of the blade of the Apeks RK3 HD ensures maximum propulsion and excellent maneuverability. The blade features flow slots that reduce resistance in the upward movement and increase the thrust of the downward movement while preventing the occurrence of turbulence and ensuring a smooth and even water flow along the fin.

Perfect fit and easy operation with any dive gear

The foot pocket has been cut extra wide because the fins are often used in extreme conditions where divers have to wear drysuits or heavy-duty neoprene boots. But the fin straps, consisting of robust stainless steel springs, ensure that the fins adapt to any type of boot and always provide a good fit. In addition, they are very easy to don and doff, even with thick neoprene gloves, thanks to these high-end steel straps with partial rubber coating.

For easy transport to and from the dive site, the RK3 HD rubber fins can be attached to the equipment with a suitable fin bracket or carabiner, as the fins are equipped with special transport eyelets.
