The SXS 62X SXS is a Mares regulator of the latest generation, consisting of the lightweight and innovative Mares SXS 62X regulator and the compact Mares Octopus SXS, a reliable regulator from the same forge as the popular Mares Epic ADJ 82X PVD oder der Mares Atlas ADJ 62X TBP. The SXS 62 SXS is a lightweight and ultra-compact Mares regulator for divers who like to travel light or just want to glide streamlined through the water and is also available in our online Divestroe as a complete regulator system SXS 62X SXS incl. finimeter, inflator hose and regulator bag.

The Mares 62X 1st stage

The Mares 62X 1st stage is a balanced, diaphragm-controlled 1st stage, lightweight and compact, with a modern pearl chrome finish.

Unsurpassed air delivery performance

The 62X offers excellent breathing comfort not only for the primary 2nd stage, but also for the Octopus. This is because this 1st stage has been fitted with DFC on all LP ports to provide constant and natural inhalation resistance to the alternate air supply at any depth, as the DFC (Dynamic Flow Control) system minimises low pressure decrease during ínhalation.

Easy configuration

The 4 LP ports and the slightly angled 2 HP ports have been carefully placed at a distance from each other to allow flexible and easy attachment of the hoses and / or transmitters to the 1st stage, thus enabling an individual configuration of the Mares regulator.

A robust 1st stage well protected against external influences

Like all other new Mares 1st stages with an “X” in their names there is an innovative ACT Valve inside the 62X 1st stage, a valve provided with Advanced Coating Technology, which leads to 600% more valve durability.

Of course, this new Mares 1st stage also offers the meanwhile very popular AST – Auto Sealing Technology, which means that the 1st stages automatically seal themselves as soon as they are removed from the dive tank in order to avoid accidental water Ingress.

Mares SXS 2nd stage and Alternate Air Source

The SXS, which should actually be called Second eXtra Small, says it all, because it is one of the most compact 2nd stages on the market, designed to save space, not to tense the jaw during long dives and to make the diver as streamlined as possible. But you absolutely can’t deduce its performance from its small dimensions, because the performance is really huge! Equipped with a newly developed deflector to optimise the Venturi effect, the SXS allows relaxed and easy breathing even at depths over 100m.

Improved air delivery and natural breathing at any depth

As we have come to expect from Mares, this 2nd stage is also equipped with VAD – Vortex Assisted Design technology. Air flows into the 2nd stage through the bypass tube, creating a vortex that sucks in the diaphragm and causes the regulator to respond more accurately to your breathing, significantly improving breathing comfort. In addition, the SXS has an innovative curved bypass, with a larger diameter than other models, which also provides increased airflow to keep your breathing comfortable and natural at any depth.

Lightweight, durable and easy to use

Made from a very durable and ultra-light technopolymer, the SXS is completely salt-water resistant and tough, qualifying it for more demanding dives. In addition, it can be connected on the right as well as on the left side, which allows a very flexible regulator configuration with the SXS.

To ensure a clear view in any diving position, the exhaust tee is located on the side of the 2nd stage. The purge button can still be operated very well even with neoprene gloves.

With robust Superflex hose

This Mares 2nd stage comes as standard with a 75cm Superflex hose, which is much more durable than normal LP hoses, and also, with its flexibility, offers you maximum freedom of movement when diving.

In the alternative air supply variant, the yellow SXS 2.stage is also equipped with a Superflex ND hose, but in this case a long, yellow Superflex hose for better visibility.
