The Epic ADJ 82X PVD is a Mares regulator of the latest generation, which also includes pieces of jewellery such as the Mares Ultra ADJ 82X or the Mares Atlas 62X, a powerful regulator in which Mares has packed all of the innovations and modern technology that this traditional manufacturer has developed during decades of research in the field of diving Regulators, such as Mares VAD, Mares Twin Power, Mares DFC or, last but not least, the adjustable breathing resistance or the swivel turret with 5 LP-Ports. Mares 82X PVD 1st stage

Robust 1st stage with special coating for extreme logevity

The 82X PVD is a full metal Mares 1st stage made of solid brass, chrome- and nickel-plated. In addition, the stage has an extremely robust, scratch-resistant PVD coating so that this Mares regulator can withstand even the most demanding dives without any problems.

Another innovation in this 1st stage, and in all Mares 1st stages with the designation “X”, is the ACT valve, provided with Advanced Coating Technology, which leads to 600% more valve durability.

Strong performance in cold water

Even in the coldest water the Mares 82X PVD 1st stage will not freeze because its outer surface has been enlarged with grooves to optimize heat exchange.

5 LP ports for flexible house routing

On this Mares 1st stage  you will find 5 (!)medium-pressure ports placed on a swivel turret, which allow you an absolutely flexible hose routing and regulator configuration. All 5 LP ports are equipped with natural DFC. This is the proven Mares Dynamic Flow Control technology, which minimizes low pressure decrease during inhalation thus providing excellent breathing performance, even under extreme conditions.

The positioning of the HP ports is also new, because they are slightly tilted to improve the hose routing even more.

Self-sealing 1st stage prevents water and dirt ingress

Of course, the 82X PVD also offers the meanwhile very popular AST – Auto Sealing Technolgy, which means that the new Mares 1st stages automatically seal themselves as soon as they are removed from the dive tank in order to avoid accidental water ingress .

Robust full-metal 2nd stage

The Epic ADJ is a Mares 2nd stage with a pneumatically balanced downstream valve and, just like the 1st stage of this regulator, a full metal stage, consisting of massive brass, nickel- and chrome-plated with a robust PVD coating.

Adjustable breathing resistantce for high breathing comofort in every diving situation

Many of the new Mares regulators are equipped with adjustable breathing resistance, sometimes even on the octopus, which explains the ADJ in the name of the regs, which means “adjustable”.

As we are used to from Mares, this 2nd stage is also equipped with VAD – Vortex Assisted Design technology. Air flows through the bypass tube on the 2nd stage, creating a vortex with underpressure in its centre, which sucks in the membrane and causes the regulator to react even more sensitive to your breathing, significantly improving breathing comfort at every depth.

But that is not all – the new Epic ADJ even offers you an improved VAD + option that gives you an extra breathing push in extreme diving situations. Thanks to the Twin Power switch you can choose between VAD and VAD + at any time.

Flexible and hardwearing Superflex hose

The Mares Epic 2nd stages are equipped as standard with a Superflex hose, which is much more durable than normal LP hoses and, thanks to its flexibility, offers you maximum freedom of movement when diving.
